Parent & Family Training

Empowering families with the knowledge, skills, and strategies they need to support their loved ones effectively.

Supporting the Whole Family

When a family member has a developmental disability, the entire family is impacted. Our Parent & Family Training program provides education, coaching, and support to help families navigate challenges, build skills, and strengthen their ability to support their loved one's success.

We believe that families are the most important support system in a person's life. By equipping families with effective strategies and resources, we help create home environments where individuals can thrive.

Training Topics Include

  • Understanding developmental disabilities and individual needs
  • Positive behavior support strategies
  • Communication techniques and tools
  • Building independence and life skills
  • Navigating the Regional Center system
  • Advocacy skills and self-advocacy support
  • Managing stress and family wellbeing
  • Transition planning and future preparation
  • Community resources and supports
  • Crisis prevention and intervention

How Training Works

Our family training is personalized to meet each family's unique needs and circumstances. We work with families in their homes and communities, providing hands-on coaching and practical strategies that can be immediately applied.

Training plans are developed based on the individual's IPP goals and family priorities. We work collaboratively with families, respecting their expertise about their loved one while sharing evidence-based practices and new approaches.
