Behavioral Support Services

Specialized behavioral intervention and support to address challenging behaviors, improve quality of life, and help individuals thrive in their communities.

Understanding Behavioral Support

Behavioral Support Services provide specialized intervention for adults with developmental disabilities who experience challenging behaviors. Our approach is rooted in understanding, compassion, and evidence-based practices. We work to identify the underlying causes of behaviors and develop positive, person-centered strategies to support lasting change.

Our behavioral specialists collaborate closely with individuals, families, and support teams to create comprehensive behavior support plans. These plans focus not just on reducing challenging behaviors, but on improving overall quality of life, building skills, and creating environments where individuals can thrive.

Our Approach Includes

  • Functional behavior assessments to understand the root causes
  • Development of individualized behavior support plans
  • Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS)
  • Training and coaching for caregivers and support staff
  • Crisis prevention and de-escalation strategies
  • Environmental modifications and adaptations
  • Communication support and alternative strategies
  • Regular monitoring and plan adjustments
  • Coordination with other service providers
  • Family education and support

Person-Centered Philosophy

We believe that all behavior is communication. When someone exhibits challenging behaviors, they're often trying to express an unmet need or cope with a difficult situation. Our role is to listen, understand, and help find better ways to meet those needs.

Our behavioral support services always prioritize dignity, respect, and the individual's right to make choices about their own life. We work to build skills, increase independence, and create supportive environments—never to control or restrict.
