Practical Medical Support for Daily Health Needs

Our Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program provides hands-on medical support for clients who need nursing-level care but whose conditions are stable enough that RN services aren't required at all times. LVNs handle medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and day-to-day health management under physician orders.

This service allows clients with medical needs to receive appropriate care in residential or community settings rather than medical facilities.

How LVN Services Work

Scheduled Nursing Visits

LVNs visit residential settings on regular schedules - daily, several times weekly, or as needed based on medical requirements. Visits include medication administration, vital signs, health assessment, and documentation.

Medication Management

Many of our clients receive LVN services specifically for medication administration. This is necessary when self-administration isn't safe or appropriate, and staff without nursing licenses legally can't administer the medications.

Physician Order Following

All LVN activities follow specific physician orders. LVNs work within their scope of practice and coordinate with supervising RNs for situations requiring higher-level clinical judgment.

Communication with Care Teams

LVNs document thoroughly and communicate regularly with residential staff, RN supervisors, and physicians. Everyone stays informed about health status.

Problem Identification

A key LVN role is identifying when something isn't right - whether that's a medication side effect, worsening symptoms, or new health concerns. They alert RNs and physicians so issues can be addressed promptly.

The Difference Between LVN and RN Services

LVN services work well when:

Glucose Monitoring & Blood Pressure Services

These are two of the most common reasons clients need LVN support:

Diabetes Management:

Our LVNs check blood glucose multiple times daily as ordered, administer insulin based on sliding scale protocols or fixed schedules, watch for symptoms of glucose problems, and maintain detailed logs for physician review.

Blood Pressure Monitoring:

For clients with hypertension or cardiac conditions, LVNs take regular blood pressure measurements, identify concerning readings, administer blood pressure medications as scheduled, and report patterns to physicians.

Both services help prevent medical complications and emergency situations.
