Who Benefits from Housing Assistance?

Housing assistance is designed for individuals who are ready to live more independently but need support navigating the housing market and establishing their own home.

This might include someone transitioning from a family home, moving from a more restrictive setting, or needing help maintaining current housing stability.

Housing Support May Be Right If:

  • Transitioning to independent or supported living
  • Experiencing difficulty finding accessible housing
  • Needing help with rental applications
  • Facing housing instability or risk of homelessness
  • Moving to a new community or region
  • Requiring support maintaining tenancy

Understanding Housing Options

There are many paths to community living. We help individuals explore options that match their goals and support needs.

Types of Housing We Support

Housing assistance can help with various living arrangements, depending on individual preferences and support needs:

  • Independent apartments in the community with or without roommates
  • Accessible housing with modifications for physical disabilities
  • Shared housing arrangements with compatible housemates
  • Affordable housing programs including Section 8 and other subsidies
  • Supported living homes with on-site or nearby support services

Housing assistance often works alongside other services. Many individuals combine housing support with Independent Living Services (ILS) or Supported Living Services (SLS) for comprehensive support.
